Hi I'm Jerry Lyden
Founder and President of Maine Streaming Media, LLC.
I started my broadcasting career in 1963 as a guest panelist on the highly acclaimed "Youth Speaks Up" program on radio station WHWH in Princeton, NJ. In 1997 I finished my "On Air" career at the same station as the Morning Show Host - there were many stops in between. In 1970 I moved with my family to Van Buren, Maine to teach a high school course in television production. A year later I took over the 7 to midnight shift at radio station WAGM in Presque Isle, Maine, eventually becoming a news anchor on WAGM TV News. 1974 I returned to John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio and completed my BA in Communication Arts.
In late 1975 I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. I served until 1979 on active duty and until 1989 in the individual Ready Reserve, primarily as a Broadcast Officer. During my active duty tour I was recognized by the Department of the Army, Department of Defense and the CLIO International Advertising Awards on fourteen different occasions for programming that I produced, directed and/or voiced.
My civilian career was varied and colorful for two decades, including acting, radio, voice over, production and award winning. I appeared in featured roles in many Theatrical and Television Movies, TV Series, Soap Operas and on the Regional Stage. Finally, in 1997 I went to work as a narrator/engineer in the Custom Recording Department for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic in Princeton, NJ. Leaving as Department Manager after 14 years, I decided that retirement was simply not part of my make up, so I founded what is today, Maine Streaming Media. Want to know more about my background? Just Google my name.
